Little Girls Don't Draw Like This

Remember when I completely overreacted to one of Spencer's drawings? Well, never say that I don't try to learn from my mistakes! He came home with this picture on Tuesday:

I did NOT let my mind wander to what seemed to be a dungeon scene being depicted in one of the windows.

Instead, I said, "Wow. You worked hard on this!"

I was just about to comment on the colorful flag when he said, "Yeah! And, that guy [points to the guy in the window], is a guy that they killed and hung in the window for decoration!"

Can you hear the lambs screaming, Clarice?

That's funny. Well, not realy funny. But I'm watching a two hour retrospective of Silence of the Lambs (not through it all yet) and every time they show that guy hanging from the cage spread out, I still freak a little.

What exactly does he mean by "decoration?" Tell him to try something from the Martha Stewert home collection next time, eh? Windows are much more attractive without blood running down the windows.

Oh, boys will be boys, I guess. Your posts seriously make me laugh...alone in my office...and such that passers by probably think I'm crazy.

right, kathy?! that's clearly a sign of childhood naivete that he didn't think about what a MESS corpse window treatments would be!

AGP - i'm so glad to hear you say that. i really was worried that your "expert" comment would be, "Please contact me privately. We need to get your son to a therapist." ;)

Bahaha no way. I'm actually probably more afraid you think I need a therapist because I don't even know you but I think your blog is hilarious and read it every day and comment.
